KAP
KAP, as a process you can see all the way through
A supervised, step-by-step approach with your own therapist beside you — and a medical team handling the clinical side. Here is exactly how it works.

KAP works best when it is unhurried and supported. At Bodhea, that means real preparation before anything begins, a therapist present with you through every session, and integration afterward to make the work usable. The medical side is handled by our clinical partner, Journey Clinical, so you always know who is responsible for what.
How KAP works at Bodhea
Five stages, start to finish. Nothing skipped, nothing rushed.
Medical consultation
You meet by video with a licensed clinician from our clinical partner, Journey Clinical, who reviews your medical and psychiatric history and determines whether KAP is appropriate for you. If it is, they build your plan and handle prescribing and outcome monitoring.
Preparation
Before any dosing, you have one or more preparation sessions with your Bodhea therapist — the same kind of therapy hour you know, focused on what you want from the work and setting intentions.
Dosing session
You recline in a calm, private space with an eye mask and music while your Bodhea therapist stays present with you the entire time. Much of the experience is internal; your therapist is there to hold the space, not to interrupt it.
Integration
Afterward, you meet with your therapist to make sense of what came up — the thoughts, memories, and insights — and to carry them into everyday life. Integration is where a session becomes useful.
Ongoing follow-up
You continue with periodic follow-up consultations through Journey Clinical for monitoring and any refills, on the schedule your plan calls for.
Who does what
Journey Clinical
Our clinical partner's medical team determines eligibility, builds your treatment plan, handles prescribing, and monitors your outcomes.
Bodhea Health
Your Bodhea therapist provides all of the psychotherapy — preparation, presence during your session, and integration afterward.
What a session is like
The effects of a session are usually felt for around 45 minutes, and most people find the experience calm and, often, meaningful.
It can feel as though you are somewhat removed from your body, with shifts in perception that many describe as expansive.
Because movement and speech are reduced during that window, you stay reclined and supported — that is exactly why a session is done lying down, with your therapist present.
Afterward, the rest of the appointment is spent processing what came up. People often find it hard to put into words, yet feel the insights clearly.
Everyone's experience is different, and we will talk through what to expect together before your first session.
Common questions
- What is KAP?
- KAP is a structured therapeutic process that pairs a prescribed medication, overseen by a medical team, with preparation and integration therapy provided by your own Bodhea therapist. It is delivered as the step-by-step process described on this page. Our clinical partner, Journey Clinical, explains the medication side in full.
- Who prescribes the medication?
- Prescribing is handled by the medical team at our clinical partner, Journey Clinical. Bodhea provides the psychotherapy — the preparation, the support during your session, and the integration work afterward.
- Is KAP right for me?
- Eligibility is a medical decision made during your consultation with Journey Clinical, based on your history and goals. The best first step is a free consultation with us to talk through whether the process fits what you are looking for.
- What does KAP cost?
- KAP involves medical fees paid to Journey Clinical for your consultations, plus your therapy hours with Bodhea. We believe in being upfront about cost — bring your questions to a free consultation and we will walk through the numbers with you clearly.
- Do you take insurance?
- Coverage for the medical consultations varies, and the medication itself is not a covered service. We will give you the specifics for your situation during your consultation so there are no surprises.
